Delighted to be awarded the AMBER flag for promoting positive mental health. The Pieta Amber Flag initiative enables schools to raise awareness of the stigmas which exist in their environments, and the stressors on the mental and emotional wellbeing of those within them.

Sending Cards and Letters

Picture
Families and friends have spent too much time apart recently – and while electronic devices let people communicate, nothing expresses love quite like a handwritten card or letter. So, as part of AN POST Community Focus programme, they have created an online teaching resource here that explains how students can express themselves through letters or cards. Find resources for primary and post primary students at anpost.com/communityfocus

Community Focus is all about strengthening local bonds. Now we’re asking you to encourage your students to put the tips we’re providing into practice. Tell them to look out for the postage-paid ‘Send Love’ postcards we’re supplying to every home and explain they can be mailed to anyone they like within Ireland! Students can also continue to Send Love to care homes throughout the country for FREE as well. And we have plenty of ideas for Primary and Post Primary students on how and what to write here

It doesn’t matter whether the cards go to grannies, granddads, uncles, aunts, cousins or whoever – sending them will deliver a tangible message of love when it’s needed most.

The School Programme Team at An Post

Send hope. Send joy. Send love.
