Regional Winners of ISTA Senior Science Quiz 2014 |

Congratulations and well done to Maria Byrne, Eimear Kelly and Lydia McCabe, who won the Regional Finals of the ISTA Senior Science Quizin NUI Maynooth. They will represent the school in the National Final in Trinity College on Saturday 22nd November.

Awards Night 2015
Congratulations to Ciara Skehan, Leaving Certificate Prefect, who won the inaugural CEIST Award presented by Mr Gerard McGuill. The award goes to to the student who embodies the CEIST Core Values. During the presentation Ms O'Reilly said: "While Ciara is always diligent and committed to her studies she has given freely of her time and talents to the wider school community. She has always kept an eye out for her peers and in particular for the 1st years. Ciara has always been respectful of the whole school community and treated all those around her with dignity, kindness and compassion. She is a calm and reassuring presence in the school. She respects the unique and intrinsic core value of every person."
Public Access to Law Champions 2015Congratulations and well done to the Eureka legal debating team who have won the Public Access to Law National Competition for the second year in a row. They will represent Ireland in the Empire World Finals in New York City in October. Congratulations also toCatríona Smith who won theHarry Hill Cup for best speaker. Thanks to their coaches Edel & Elaine Traynor and their teacher: Mr Fahy.

CEIST School Leadership Conference 2015Well done to Sarah Flynn, Michelle Duffy & Ciara Skehan who are participating in the first CEIST School Leadership Conference in St Pat's Drumcondra.
Walk on Wednesday - WOW Day 2015Well done to all who took part on WOW Day. There were 213 participants. The winners of the draw were Amy Dawson, Seona Lynch and Molly Fitzgerald. The winners of our "Pimp My Bike" competition were, Jane Carpenter, Eva Boyle, Bevin Herward and Aubrey Ryan Ives. Coordinator: Mr Murphy.

Australian Andrew Morley aka Spencer from TV series Home & Away visited Eureka today to give a motivational talk to Transition Years on Self-esteem & Life Skills. It wasn't just the students who were delighted to meet him! He also spoke about his charity work with Oscars Law to abolish puppy factories.

Leadership Training Programme for Senior Prefects 2014-15
22 Prefects from Eureka underwent an intensive one day Leader Training programme to prepare them for the year ahead. The course was organised jointly by teacher Ms Gabrielle Moran and John Murphy Director of FRS Training. The principles of Leadership were discussed like how to build a team, how to motivate students and how to delegate responsibility. This was all very new to the students who felt it was very challenging.

Best wishes to all the LC Class 2014
Congratulations to ALL the Leaving Certificate students on achieving their personal bests. It was yet another bumper year for points in Eureka Secondary School, with 21 students scoring more than 500 points and getting their courses in Trinity College, UCD, DCU, NUI Galway and St Patrick’s College Drumcondra. A broad spectrum of courses have been taken up by these particular students including Food & Agribusiness, Dentistry, Law, Radiography, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Business, Science and Primary Teaching."

College Entrance Scholarships 2014
Congratulations and well done to all those who received entrance scholarships to Third Level Colleges. In the photos we have Sarah Smith studying Primary Teaching in St Pat's, Drumcondra and Lydia Igoe & Grainne Clarke both studying Science courses at UCD. (Ellen Casey also won a scholarship to UCD based on her Leaving Certificate results). Niamh O'Kelly Lynch won a scholarship to study in Trinity College.
