Creative February - Connect with NatureSome of our 5th Year artists went “wild” for Creative February. As part of this national celebration of creativity in schools across Ireland, students responded to the theme Connect with Nature by designing and constructing their own cardboard animal sculptures using recycled materials under the guidance of their teacher. Throughout the process, they explored sustainable making practices while engaging with multiple artistic strands including sculpture, construction, papier-mâché, textiles and painting. The finished pieces reflect not only their creativity and technical skill, but also thoughtful design development and a strong awareness of environmental responsibility. A wonderful showcase of imagination, collaboration and connection with the natural world

Geography Tour to Iceland 2025
The Leaving Certificate Geography class had a four-day trip to Iceland. On this adventure, they covered a lot of the Leaving Certificate geography topics in an interactive and engaging way. They went to the traditional Icelandic geothermal baths for some relaxation time, including the famous Secret Lagoon. They then had a guided tour around one of the largest Geothermal Energy plants in the world, Hellisheidi Power Plant, showing the students how renewable energy is the way forward for cheap, clean energy. They visited multiple fluvial landscapes, including the Gullfoss and Skógarfoss waterfalls and the famous Vik basalt black sand beach, famously used in Game of Thrones TV series. They got to explore the beautiful city of Reykjavik. If that wasn't enough, they also got to see the Eyjafjallajökull volcano that erupted in 2010 and nearby geysers and hiked up to the snout of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. This was an inspiring trip for some students who could really see an exciting and adventurous career in the vast area of Geography. Thanks to Teachers: Mr. O’Keeffe & Ms. Cassidy.
